3 RULES TO FOLLOW FOR CRAFT BEER BEGINNERS

3 RULES TO FOLLOW FOR CRAFT BEER BEGINNERS

RULE 1.

BUY LOCAL OR INDEPENDENT

There is nothing more embarrassing than showing up the party with a corporate owned craft beer!  The easiest way to avoid this is buying from a local breweries. Not only will you impress your friends you will also help the local economy and that's a good thing too.

You can also look for the independent beer logo from the Brewers Association. Learn more Click Here

RULE 2.

CHECK THE DATE

Hey we get it, it’s craft beer, not milk but that doesn’t mean it’s gonna stay fresh. If the beer is not selling fast or it is tucked away in the cold dark corners of the store, it might may have been sitting for a while.  Always check the date which can usually be found on the bottom or side of the can or bottle. Sometimes you may even find a funny message from the brewers. Beers that are 6 months old may not have the same deliciously fresh flavors of the same beer that was just canned. The breweries don’t want you to have a bad experience and neither do we. ALWAYS BUY FRESH.

RULE 3

BUY WHAT YOU LIKE

Remember there is no such thing as bad beer taste. There is a style for everyone! Don't be bullied into some crazy style if you are just starting out and don't fall victim to a cool label. It also never hurts to talk to the bartender , beer store owner or the brewers and gain a little knowledge on the beer before you try it. They are there to help and want you to enjoy what your drinking. If your thinking of being adventurous ask for a sample and or trade with some buddies.
